The sleeper truck, which features a 400 hp, 11.9-liter Cummins Westport ISX12 G natural gas engine, joins the company’s existing fleet of 20 compressed natural gas T660s, which were delivered last year.
“We’ve been operating trucks with natural gas-powered engines for a number of years, and getting this Kenworth T680 with improved aerodynamics and the new back-of-cab fuel system represents the next big step,” says Jeff Shefchik, president of Paper Transport.
The company’s new T680 has a 76-inch sleeper and Agility Fuel Systems’ 155 DGE behind-the-cab CNG fuel system, which uses four 26-inch x 80-inch Hexagon Lincoln Type 4 cylinders. The truck’s driving range is approximately 600 miles between fuelings.
Kenworth notes that a natural-gas-powered T680 can also be ordered in a day cab or 52-inch mid-roof sleeper configuration – also with the ISX12 G engine. Read more at NGT News.
